Nutty Almond Brownie
A hit across age groups, this dark chocolate brownie with a smattering of almonds is hands-down winner.
INGREDIENTS:
200 gm all-purpose flour (maida)
3 tbsp cocoa powder
Small pinch of baking soda
Small pinch of salt
3/4 cup sugar, powdered
150 gm dark chocolate
75 gm butter
2 eggs
Milk, as required
15 almonds, crushed or slivered
5 marshmallows
1/4 cup gems
METHOD:
Sift maida, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and sugar together in a large bowl. Set aside.
Combine chocolate and butter in a bowl (big enough to fit over a double boiler) and cook till the chocolate and butter melt. Remember to stir continuously.
Remove from the double boiler and break an egg into the chocolate sauce and mix well.
Break another egg and mix while stirring continuously.
Add the mixed dry ingredients in 3 batches and mix well with a wooden spoon or hand mixer. Add a little milk if the consistency of the batter is too thick. Add almonds and mix well.
Line a baking dish with an aluminium foil sheet or butter paper.
Pre-heat the OTG at 200°C for 5 minutes.
Pour the batter into a square baking dish and top with marshmallows and gems. Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Remove the baking dish and keep side for 10 minutes.
Cut into pieces and serve.
