Mushroom rolls with sauce

Craving a healthy, savory treat that's light yet full of flavor? These Mushroom Rolls with Sauce are the perfect solution! Packed with the umami goodness of mushrooms and infused with the aromatic richness of garlic, soy, and sesame, these rolls offer a satisfying bite wrapped in delicate rice paper. Steamed to perfection, they’re paired with a slightly sweet and spicy soy-based sauce, making them ideal for a cozy dinner or an impressive appetizer. Whether you're aiming for a wholesome meal or just a flavorful snack, these rolls are an easy way to enjoy gourmet flavors with minimal effort.

Ingredients:

For the Mushroom Rolls:

  • 200g mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3-4 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp chili oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 rice papers

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chili oil
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 2 tbsp water

Method:


Prepare the Mushroom Mix:

1. Wash and chop the mushrooms, then transfer them to a bowl.

2. Add the finely chopped garlic, onion, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.


Prepare the Rice Papers:
3. Soak each rice paper in water for a few seconds until soft, then transfer to a clean board.


Assemble the Rolls:
4. Place a portion of the mushroom filling on the softened rice paper and carefully roll it up.


Steam the Rolls:
5. Steam the rolls for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked and the rice papers turn slightly translucent.


Prepare the Sauce:
6. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili oil, honey, and water. Mix well.


Serve:
7. Transfer the cooked mushroom rolls to a serving plate. Pour the prepared sauce over the rolls, and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions for an extra crunch and flavor boost.
