No quality checks by Borosil. A defective product was sent and its taking few weeks for them to send a replacement. Do not buy products from Borosil website, try Amazon, as they have a quick refund/return/replacement policy.

What foods can the Borosil Chef Delite 300W Chopper handle?
It works well for onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, green chillies, nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts), boiled eggs, cheese, and paneer. The dual blade is specifically designed for leafy vegetables like spinach, coriander, mint, and curry leaves. It is not meant for hard items like raw turmeric root, frozen foods, ice, or dry whole spices like cinnamon sticks.
How long should I press the button when chopping?
For most vegetables like onions and tomatoes, 3 to 5 short pulses of about 2 seconds each will give you a medium chop. For a finer result, pulse 6 to 8 times. Avoid holding the button down continuously for more than 20 to 30 seconds at a stretch, since this heats up the motor. Pulse chopping gives you more control over the texture, too.
Can this chopper grind dry spices?
The chopper can handle softer dry spices like dried red chillies, pepper, cumin seeds, and coriander seeds in small batches. It won't work for very hard spices like whole cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves. For those you still need a mixer grinder jar. Keep batches small (around a quarter of the bowl) for the best results with dry ingredients.
Will it work for wet grinding, like making chutney or paste?
Yes, you can make chutneys, pastes, and dips. Green chutney with coriander and mint works quite well. Add a small amount of water or lemon juice to help the blades move the ingredients around. The 600ml bowl gives you enough room for a typical batch of chutney for one meal. For larger quantities, you may need to do two batches.
What if the motor gets hot during use?
The chopper has a built-in thermal auto cutoff that stops the motor when it overheats. If this happens, unplug the unit and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes before using it again. This is normal and it protects the motor from damage. To avoid triggering the cutoff, use short pulses instead of continuous running, and don't fill the bowl past the 600ml mark.
How much electricity does it use?
The motor draws 300W and runs on standard 230V AC / 50 Hz household power. Since you only use it for a few seconds at a time (pulse operation), the actual power consumption per use is very small, much less than running a mixer grinder for the same task.
