Urad Dal Khichdi

Ingredients
1/2cup urad dal
1cup white rice
1/4cup ghee
2-3pc cloves
1inch cinnamon stick
1pc big elaichi
2pc dry red chilli
1tsp jeera
Hing, a pinch
1tsp ginger, chopped
1pc onions, chopped
1tsp turmeric powder
1tsp red chilli powder
Water, as required
Salt, to taste
1tsp garam masala
Method
In a pressure cooker, add ghee and let it heat properly. Once heated, add spices and hing.
Add onions in the cooker and let them sautee until they're translucent.
Once they turn a little brown, add dal, powdered spices and sautee.
Lastly, add the rice and water. Check for seasoning and then let it cook for 2 whistles and then keep it on medium heat.
Fluff the khichdi and then serve hot with Mango chuna, papad, achar and ghee.
