INGREDIENTS -
- 1 cup Singhara atta (water chestnut flour)
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp slivered almonds (for garnish)
- 2 cups boiling water
METHOD -
- Heat ghee in a pan on medium heat. Once it’s hot, add the Singhara atta and roast it. Keep stirring continuously for 5-7 minutes until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
- Add boiling water to the roasted atta. Be cautious as the mixture may splutter. Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
- Once the water is absorbed, add sugar and cardamom powder. Stir well until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens. Cook for another 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- When the halwa starts leaving the sides of the pan, remove it from heat.
- Garnish with slivered almonds and serve hot.
Enjoy your delicious Singhara Halwa!
