Caramelised Onion Pasta

Silky, creamy, and bursting with caramelized sweetness! This comforting pasta dish combines golden onions, garlic, and cream with a kick of chili oil for a restaurant-worthy meal.

Serving Tip: Pair it with a slice of garlic bread or a fresh green salad for the ultimate comfort food experience. 😋

INGREDIENTS -

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

  • A drizzle of chili oil

  • 1/2 cup cream

  • Boiled spaghetti pasta (quantity as desired)

METHOD - 


Caramelize the Onions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add the sliced onions with a pinch of salt.

  • Cook the onions slowly, stirring occasionally, until they’re golden and caramelized (about 20–25 minutes).


Add Garlic

  • When the onions are soft and caramelized, add the chopped garlic.

  • Cook for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant.


Make the Sauce

  • Lower the heat and pour in the cream.

  • Stir to combine, allowing the cream to thicken slightly.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Add chili oil and mix well.


Combine with Pasta

  • Add the boiled spaghetti pasta to the skillet.

  • Toss to coat the pasta in the creamy, caramelized onion sauce.



Garnish and Serve

  • Transfer the pasta to serving plates.

  • Drizzle with chili oil and garnish with chopped parsley.
