Korean Chicken Wings
INGREDIENTS:
8 pieces of chicken wings
3/4 cup refined flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 eggs
Salt to taste
1 cup Gochujang sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
Garlic paste
Ginger paste
2 tbsp Korean chilli paste
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
Salt to taste
Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Chopped spring onion greens for garnish
METHOD:
1. In a large bowl, marinate the chicken wings with salt, pepper, apple cider vinegar, ginger garlic paste, Korean chilli paste, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Mix well and set aside for 20 minutes.
2. In another bowl, prepare the coating mixture. Break the eggs, sprinkle salt and red chilli powder, and whisk until combined.
3. For the second coating, coat the marinated chicken wings in the mixture of refined flour and cornstarch. Then, dip them into the egg mixture for a second coat, and coat them back in the refined flour mixture. Make sure to dust off any excess flour while coating to avoid lumps.
4. Place the coated chicken wings in an air fryer and cook for approximately 35-40 minutes or until they are cooked through.
5. Coat the air-fried chicken wings with the Gochujang sauce.
6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped spring onion greens.
7. Serve the Korean chicken wings with a side salad.
8. Enjoy the delicious and flavourful Korean chicken wings!
