Meanwhile, put a deep-bottomed pan on the gas stove and boil the water. To make tea for 9 people, you need 6 cups of water.

You can grate or chop ginger as you prefer. Grating ginger decreases the steep time.

Add tea leaves, cardamom, grated or chopped ginger, cinnamon, tulsi leaves, and sugar, and let it boil for 3-4 minutes.

Now pour milk and keep it covered for 5-6 minutes. During this time, reduce the flame and let it simmer properly until you get the desired colour of the tea.   

Once done, strain the tea with a sieve and press the ginger with a spoon to extract the flavours of the spices.
