Ven Pongal

Ingredients
I1cup rice
1/2cup moong dal
1/2tsp black pepper
1/2tsp jeera seeds
Ginger, an inch piece
Salt, to taste
1/2tsp jeera
1/2tsp black pepper
2tsp cashews
5-6 curry leaves
Hing, a pinch
1tbsp ghee
Method
In a pressure cooker, add soaked rice and dal together along with the other spices. Cook it for 3-4 whistles until it all becomes mushy.
In a kadai, add ghee and let it become a bit hot. Then add jeera, curry leaves, hing and cashews. Let it sautee until cashew is golden brown in colour.
Lastly, add the cooked dal and rice in this kadai and combine everything.
